Invitation to the Dance

Sunday April 30, 2017 – 3 pm
Kettering Seventh Day Adventist Church
General Admission – Please arrive early for the best seats

Many great orchestral works were written for dance or inspired by dance. A few of these favorite dance-inspired light classical works will end our 2016-2017 season. Some of these works have become part of our popular culture through cartoons, movies, and song. Weber’s Invitation to the Dance kicks off the program. Also on the program will be Danse Macabre of Saint-Saëns, a few Dvorak Slavonic Dances, Ponchielli’s Dance of the Hours, and Franz Liszt’s unforgettable Hungarian Rhapsody No. 2. Even if you never saw Tom and Jerry’s rendition of the Liszt, you are sure to enjoy this fiery finale to our season.
